Our Story
Some of the best ideas are born out of frustration.
For our founder — a busy working mom juggling a career, three daughters, and everything in between — that frustration came every single morning. She needed a bag that could keep up with her life. One that could carry her laptop, her files, her essentials, and still look polished when she walked into a meeting. One that rolled quietly and smoothly through airport terminals, long corporate hallways, and rough city streets without straining her shoulder or her spirit.
She searched everywhere. What she found were bags that were bulky, boxy, and built for someone else entirely. Nothing that felt like her.
So she built it herself.
What began as one woman solving her own problem quietly grew into something much bigger — a women-run business with a mission to make the lives of professional women a little easier, a little more beautiful, and a whole lot more empowered.
The Name Behind the Brand
JKM & Company is named for the three people who inspire everything we do — our founder's daughters, Julia, Kellie, and Michelle. No dream comes to life alone, and behind every step of this journey has been a wonderfully supportive husband who believed in this vision from the very beginning. Together, they are the heart of this brand. Every bag in our collection is a reflection of the women our daughters have become: strong, stylish, hardworking, and completely one of a kind.
How Every Bag Is Made
We take the making of our bags seriously — because we know you're counting on them.
Every design begins with careful planning, detailed product renderings, and thoughtful material selections. Our founder works hands-on throughout the entire process, regularly visiting our manufacturing partners to personally select fabrics, review prototypes, and make sure every detail meets her exacting standards. Every bag is handmade with precision and care by skilled craftspeople who take as much pride in the finished product as we do.
When the bags arrive in Southern California, our team inspects each one individually before it ever reaches your door. Because a bag with your name on it — even if it's ours — deserves to be exactly right.
